Tate Ellis is an energetic and dedicated drum instructor with a deep passion for music and teaching. Since first picking up drum sticks at age 10, Tate has immersed himself in the world of drumming, developing his skills through a variety of styles, from rock and jazz to funk and marching percussion.

Currently, Tate is in his third year of a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Calgary, where he’s expanding his musical knowledge and honing his craft. As a long-time member and educator in Calgary’s marching bands, Tate has not only performed on some of the city’s biggest stages but also helped other young musicians achieve their goals and grow as performers.

Tate’s teaching style is all about making lessons fun and engaging. He believes in balancing technical proficiency with creativity, ensuring his students build strong fundamentals while discovering their own musical voice. Whether he’s working with a beginner or an advanced drummer, Tate’s approach is patient, motivational, and tailored to each individual’s goals. He’s dedicated to creating a positive and inspiring learning environment where students can thrive and develop their confidence as musicians.
